I think, there is no need to write what Google is. You probably already know that. And probably you already know what term “google it” means. Google appeared 10 years ago and now it would be very hard to find a person who has never heard about Google. But how many of you have seen Google office? Have you ever wondered how Google looks from inside? I have, many times. So, there you go, some awesome pictures from Google offices in Zurich and Sydney.
Some history facts
According to Wikipedia, Google began in January 1996 as a research project by Larry Page, a Ph.D. student at Stanford. They hypothesized that a search engine that analyzed the relationships between websites would produce better ranking of results than existing techniques, which ranked results according to the number of times the search term appeared on a page. Picture on the left shows Google in 1998.
The domain google.com was registered on September 15, 1997, and the company was incorporated as Google Inc. on September 7, 1998 at a friend’s garage in Menlo Park, California. In March 1999, the company moved into offices in Palo Alto, home to several other noted Silicon Valley technology startups. Google has remained at this location ever since.
